Photo via UnsplashHIV Ireland are teaming up with gay dating app Grindr in a bid to get more men to test themselves for the virus.
Gay and bisexual men who use the app can now order a HIV self testing kit for free as part of European HIV Testing Week.
It's hoped the discreet nature of ordering a test through the app will allow more men to avoid the stigma of asking for a HIV test.
The initiative hopes to provide privacy by allowing men to test themselves in the comfort of their own home.
The Journal reports that Ireland is the first country outside of the United States to start the incentive.
Adam Shanley, from HIV Ireland says this initiative will "increase access to HIV testing and ultimately bring an end to HIV transmissions."
