A great way to ward off stinky garlic breath is to eat yoghurt.
Researchers have found fat and protein from the dairy treat can prevent smelly compounds from escaping.
It alone can reduce 99% of the smell-producing elements from getting out, and full-fat yoghurt is best.
Greek yoghurt is particularly effective, but fruit-flavoured yoghurt works also.
The study is published in the journal "Molecules" and comes from Ohio State University.
Previous research has also indicated that milk can reduce the odour from garlic.
Experts say the yoghurt must be consumed as soon as possible after eating garlic.
So forget chewing gum on your next date, bring a pot of yoghurt instead!
