However not everyone thought she was right to do so.
A woman in the UK has been both criticised and applauded on Twitter, after she exposed a medical professional who asked her out via Instagram.
The woman, who goes by Anna on her Twitter bio, shared a screenshot of the message, which read: “Hey, this might seem a bit odd but I done (sic) your blood test the other day at hospital, and I thought you were good looking and seemed nice so here I am shooting my shot.”
Anna posted the screenshot to Twitter with the caption “Hello HR is that you”.

The tweet quickly amassed over 6000 retweets and over 49 thousand likes, and even though the message goes against doctor-patient confidentiality rules - many people surprisingly thought Anna had done the wrong thing by sharing it:
I do not see an issue here, he was polite, not rude in any way, just reply an tell him your not interested, I presume this would have been okay if he was an attractive man??

It is not wrong for someone you met, even randomly, to compliment you and ask you out, as long as it is done respectfully. With the Internet, your public profiles can be easily found. This isn’t the same as being ogled, catcalled, or stalked. If you’re not into him just say no.

I... I don't get what is so bad about this o_o
Are you never allowed to hit on someone you had any professional interaction with, ever ?
Just tell him you're not interested, if he insists, THEN there is a problem...

After the negative responses Anna followed up with a series of tweets to clarify he wasn’t getting fired but the “level of privacy that has been invaded is personally worrying”.
I’m not looking to end someone’s career, I’m not. After the out burst of this tweet I’m not even sure o want to tell on him. It’s just a level of privacy that has been invaded is personally worrying.

Disclaimer we’ve spoken he’s not getting fired, he knows what he done was wrong. The amount of abuse I’m getting id rather not report. If this was your sister or daughter or cousin in my position imagine how you’d feel if they got some of the messages I’ve received.

Thankfully, some people did believe she'd done the correct thing by sharing the message, and backed her up:
How can anyone defend him. He’s literally taken her medical records and looked her up online to try and date her. This happened to me when a paramedic tried it and honestly it scares you. The people who are suppose to make you feel safe etc and they do stuff like this

The replies giving the girl stick for this are repulsive. A literal DOCTOR has completely breached data protection and the privacy of his patient to try and fire in to her and somehow she’s the one that’s done something wrong??

i have worked in the medical field dealing with patient info. never ONCE have i contacted them outside of an office context. patient confidentiality is SACRED in the medical community. this is unprofessional and he deserves to be fired.
