Some things are better left unsaid.
Weddings are a time of great togetherness where everyone puts aside their differences to celebrate love - at least they should be.
One couple in Baghdad have had the opposite experience after a family row, brought on by a song request at the celebration, actually led to the couple divorcing.
Apparently, the bride requested a Syrian song called Mesaytara by Lamis Kan, the title of which translates to "I am dominant"or "I will control you"
The Mirror reports: "The song begins with the lyrics: "I am dominant; you will be ruled under my strict instructions, I will drive you crazy if you looked at other girls on the street.
"Yes, I’m dominant, you’re my piece of sugar. As long as you’re with me, you’ll walk under my command."
The bride was seen to be enjoying the tune, dancing away.
It was a different story for the groom's family though, who didn't appreciate the sentiment of the song, leading to a massive row between the families and resulting in the newlyweds going their separate ways.
