Doing 11 minutes of a silly John Cleese-style walk can be good for your health.

Research published by the British Medical Journal shows a stride similar to that from the Monty Python, 'Ministry of Silly Walks' sketches can help burn an extra 8 calories a minute.

Scientists in the US also found spending 11 minutes a day doing the silly walk could cut the risk of death by 10 per cent.
