Authorities in the Canary Islands have evacuated between 5,000 and 10,000 people from the path of lava flows on La Palma.
Two cracks opened in the side of a mountain in the Cumbre Viejo national park after locals felt a tremor around two o'clock yesterday.
Rivers of lava have cut roads in the sparsely populated area -- though there are no reports of injuries.
