Who said love is blind?
A new study of 7,400 vegans and vegetarians found that more than half of vegans and four in 10 vegetarians would never date a meat-eater.
Even worse, 12% of vegans wouldn’t even consider dating a vegetarian.
This study comes as vegan and vegetarian dating apps have popped up, like Green Singles, Veggie Date and Veggie Connection.
Research for the study was done by the Vegglt dating app, popular among the non meat eaters.
Vegetarian diets eliminate meat from a person’s diet, while a vegan diet excludes any animal products, including eggs, butter and cheese.
Dating experts say:
“It can be hard for a lot of vegans to have a serious relationship with a meat-eater,It isn’t just about food, it’s about lifestyle.”
They also say that people should look for similar lifestyles, values, goals and interests when searching for a match.
Limiting your dating pool to only consider vegan or vegetarians may seem restrictive, but experts also agree that it could be beneficial.
Reasons vegans practice the diet involve everything from reducing animal suffering, improving health, and environmental damage caused by food production.
