A US cinema wants to make sure you're acting the clown if you want to get in to see the new IT film.

One of the most anticipated sequels of 2019, IT Chapter 2, is coming to cinemas across the country later this year.

A cinema chain in the US is making sure the most hardcore of IT fans can gather together to celebrate the release as they'll be showing 'Clown Only' screenings of the new film.

Alamo Drafthouse are saying they'll only allow ticket holders who are wearing clown costumes and makeup to enter these special screenings. This comes after they test ran the project in 2017 when the first chapter of IT was released.

17 clown showings are expected to happen across the US when IT: Chapter Two comes out next month.

Watching the new IT film will be a terrifying enough experience on its own, never mind watching it in a room full of horror movie fanatics dressed as clowns!

We've yet to hear of any Irish cinemas doing something similar, but if you and your friends want to freak out your fellow cinema goers this Autumn, we suggest you rock up to the new IT film fully kitted out in your best clown gear!

The film adaption of Stephen King's classic novel returns to Irish cinemas September 6th, 2019.
