“I’m not even a wrestling fan!”.
We've all made promises with friends that we never actually keep, especially if means changing your name.
A man in the UK has honored his word to legally changing his name to "John Cena" after a drunk bet.
Formerly known as Lewis Oldfield changed his name after losing a bet.
He told The Sun:
“We’d had a few drinks and were play-wrestling. We were just messing around, pretending to do announcements like in WWE and one of my friends was introducing John Cena,”
“One thing led to another and they dared me to change my name to John Cena.”
The 23-year-old originally contemplated getting Cena’s name tattooed onto him, but then instead he agreed to the original deal.
To add to the craziness of the story, Cena said “I’m not even a wrestling fan!”.
Cena had to pay £40 (€46.45) for his name to be legally changed and further deposit for his passport to be updated.
If you're wondering what his mammy thought of the new name, he said:
“My mum couldn’t stop laughing at me when she found out,”
