Travelodge has revealed the most bizarre questions it's received from guests at some of its hotels in the UK this year.

One person in York asked staff to sing next door - so that he could check that he had a quiet room.

While another customer asked for a children's paddling pool to make sure their pet fish had a spacious bed for the night.

In Cornwall, staff were asked by a quest to keep an eye on an Ebay auction and bid on his behalf while he was having breakfast.

In the same region, a guest asked if hotel staff had a dream interpreter on hand.

A visitor in Blackpool was feeling particularly brave, asking if the hotel could arrange for him to cuddle the big cats at Blackpool  Zoo after watching Tiger King on Netflix during a lockdown TV marathon.

Meanwhile, the Derby Telegraph reports "perhaps the most bizarre request of the year came at the chain's Glossop branch, where a guest asked "When is the best time to cross Snake Pass to avoid the snake?", about the infamous road which runs through the Peak District, connecting Sheffield and Manchester."

Another Derby guest it reported to ask hotel staff if there was anyway he could play in a national game of cricket.

There's just no accounting for some folk.
