Sumatran Tiger.

This is the type of thing people have nightmares about.. but hope the tiger is found safe and well.

A Sumatran tiger is on the loose on Borneo Island in Asia after escaping from a zoo.

The critically endangered species is kept at Sinka Zoo, in the town of Singkawang.

Borneo is situated off the coast of Indonesia.

One tiger had to be shot after a zookeeper was left dead at the facility. The other is still on the loose.

The tigers are about 18 months old and escaped after a landslide hit the town that their zoo is in.

Other exotic animals have been found dead in tracing the path of the lost tiger.

Borneo police and conservationists have been dispatched to search for the missing animal.

An order has been made to close nearby tourism attractions and locals are advised to stay at home to allow them to conduct the search.

The zoo is surrounded by a jungle type of terrain, and zookeepers have prepared the tigers cage with food in the hope it returns.

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with less than 400 of the species remaining in the world.
