Sure just book the hair and make-up for 4am...

There's just something about weddings that continually divides the internet.

From brides expecting guests to pay insane amounts of money to attend lavish ceremonies, to boss's who refuse to give bride's time off for their own weddings...

But this one is something else all of its own.

A couple has caused a stir online after they invited their friends and family to watch the sunrise with them at their 5.30am beach ceremony, as revealed on Reddit.

''Every year on our anniversary, my fiance and I wake up early, go to the beach and watch the sunrise together,'' they wrote, adding that the tradition meant enough to them to form the basis of their marriage ceremony.

''Our plan is to have our ceremony on the beach the and have everyone walk over to a beachfront restaurant for breakfast, bloody Marys and mimosas (we've already talked to the restaurant owner about this, who loves the idea and said he'd be happy to open early for us).

''After that, everyone is free for the remainder of the day.

''We've been getting a LOT of backlash from our families about this, who say this is way too early and we need to move the ceremony to a more ‘normal’ time of day,'' the post continues.

A lot of Reddit users pointed out that the logistics of such an early wedding just wouldn't work, with many suppliers being unsurprisingly unable to operate before dawn.

Most people suggested a compromise.

''A good solution is to have a private ceremony with you and your fiancé at 5:30, and then have a second ceremony at a more reasonable time for the guests,'' one user wrote.

''I would just do the ceremony in the morning like you plan, if people show up they show up, and then have the reception at a normal time so that way everyone else who doesn’t show up can go to reception,'' another user suggested.

But many felt the couple should be able to do what they want for their special day, saying, ''Too often I have seen the bride and groom burn out accommodating their guests,'' one Reddit user responded, adding, ''Enjoy your personal, and meaningful sunrise. Let everyone else enjoy your union at their leisure. Or not.''
