A study has found that working eight hours a day with a break in the middle of the day isn't the most efficient way of doing things anymore.
There have been many studies over the years to prove this but Dr Travis Bradberry's seems to be the most recommended.
Bradberry shared his ideal work-to-rest ratio with LinkedIn and its very different from what we are used to.
He said: "The ideal work-to-break ratio was 52 minutes of work, followed by 17 minutes of rest.
"People who maintained this schedule had a unique level of focus in their work."
This makes sense just beacause you are working for a long time doesn't mean you are being productive.
Breaks is a way to motivate workers and help people feel more refreshed and ready to take on projects with a new vigour that probably wouldn't have been there if they had been sitting at the desk the full time.
Would your boss be willing to implement this ?
