Creative thinking.

As category five storm Hurricane Dorian remains potentially on course to reach Florida in the coming days, a number of unique ways to stop the disasters have been floated.

US President Donald Trump's idea of dropping a nuclear bomb on the hurricane probably has to be the strangest.

However a Florida man thinks he has an even better idea.

In a video shared by Florida Today journalist Tyler Vazquez the man reveals his plan of getting that the US navy involved and dropping ice in the warm water.

''I can't see how they haven't come up with a way yet to combat these storms yet,'' he says in the short video.

''They keep saying that it is going to hit all this warm weather and warm water.

''We have a navy why don't the navy come and drop ice into the warm water so it can't get going as fast as it is going?''

And wasn't done there.

The man also envisions the US airforce getting involved too.

''There have gotta be ways to combat this instead of just pointing at it and saying 'now it's getting worse.

''Yeah we know it's getting worse but you keep telling us 'it's the warm weather, the wind.'

''We have an airforce.

''Why don't we get some planes to fly around it and get the winds going in the opposite way or the navy to go in circles and fight it the other way?''

While we have no way of proving his theory as incorrect, we do have string doubts as to its potential.

As do the people of twitter:
