Should stag parties sign non-disclosure agreements?
"A ruined wedding is better than a ruined life later down the line. She should have all the facts before entering this marriage."
One man is left in a bit of a moral dilemma after attending a recent stag do.
The groom-to-be asked his stag guests to sign a non-disclosure form banning them from speaking about any of the debauchery that'd be taking place later that night. However, one of the guests took to Reddit this week, seeking advice after seeing something he shouldn't have during the night.
He told the anonymous forum that ahead of the party, the groom's brother asked him to put his signature on a piece of paper stating he would not "talk about or mention the party after it was over or with anyone that wasn't present at the party".
Despite some apprehension, he signed it but added that he now is conflicted over whether to tell his friend's fiancée about what happened.
"She’s a shy, sweet girl who loves the bachelor a lot."
He explained how after an action packed day of skydiving, drinking and gambling the group headed back to their casino hotel where the night kicked on. Then at around 1am, a group of private strippers arrived.
Clearly uncomfortable, the friend wrote:
"I am perfectly happy in my relationship so my buddy and I are just trying to find some space to crash and not be a part of what’s really going on so we go back downstairs and play a bit more roulette."
He continued that it didn't take long for some of the guys to start having sex with their new guests.
At that point he left the room but later on, he walked into the stag's bedroom to find him cheating on his soon-to-be-wife:
"When I go back home after the weekend I tell my girlfriend because honestly I feel bad for bachelor’s fiancée".
His situation is made even more complicated because his own girlfriend and the bride to be are quite close:
"My girl is friends with her so I guess I should of known it would have major consequences because my girlfriend wants to tell her and they are getting married this weekend.
"I am afraid of the backlash this will cause especially signing that form. I told my girl this and she understands the risk but she said we can’t let the poor girl go through with marrying him."
"A ruined wedding is better than a ruined life later down the line. She should have all the facts before entering this marriage."
The majority of replies from fellow Reddit users said the bride to be absolutely deserved to know what took place with one commenting:
