There are many reasons you might be in need of the emergency service - but this ain't one.
The UK's West Yorkshire Police have had to issue a reminder for people only to phone 999 in a genuine emergency.
It comes as the force shared an unbelievable snippet from an actual call received by 999 operators.
Please don't ring 999 if there's a spider in your house.
This is just one example of an inappropriate call that we've had to our 999 emergency line.
On average, we receive 120 calls a day to our 999 line that are not a life or death emergency.

As funny as it seems, it's important to remember that the time taken by this call, could have been a life or death factor in a genuine emergency.
If you must contact emergency services for a spider, related disturbance, it better be because you've already burned the house down!
