A beauty salon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is offering a "microchip manicure".
The chip can embed any personal information you'd like to share via your nails.
Creator Nour Makarem decided to create the unique manicure at Lanour Beauty Lounge after the pandemic hit.
The idea was create 'smart nails' and promote social distancing in beauty services.
A chip is embedded into your nail during the manicure and uses 'Near Field Communication' technology to connect with smartphone devices and tablets.
Nour admitted that she stumbled across some problems when designing the chip, including: making the chip small enough to fit on the nail.
They told CNN Middle East:
"We can install whatever information the client wants on their chip,"
According to Tyla, When the nail is tapped against a smartphone it will transfer the data in seconds.
Although the amount of data that the chip can store is quite small.
The nail can transfer WhatsApp details, a digital business card, or your Instagram handle can be added.
Nour hopes that it will develop into being used for menus and payments.
