The two Ukrainian women were happy to set the record straight
A Sky News anchor has been raising eyebrows after an interview with two Ukrainian refugees went to air.
Towards the end of their interview, broadcaster Kay Burley can be heard to say:
"I'm so pleased that you're safe and what a terrible journey that you've had - but hopefully you can start to build a new life in Dublin safe in the knowledge that the British people are completely behind you".
Err...
Many have interpreted the segment to suggest that the two Ukrainian women being interviewed should feel proud of the British people for the hospitality they've been shown in Dublin.
The moment was captured by UK councillor Maurice Mcleod, who tweeted the clip along with the caption "Kay Burley asking these women to thank the British people for Irish hospitality!"

The two interviewees were happy to set the record straight, chiming in with:
"We want to thank the Irish people, we are so grateful to Irish people..."

The UK has been heavily criticized since Russia's invasion of Ukraine for doing little to help refugees fleeing the country.
Irish Twitter has been reacting:
‘I hope you are safe in your new life in Dublin, with the support of the British people behind you’ ?
