"it’s green, it’s creamy and it’s utterly delicious,"
Food giants Heinz are celebrating the patron saint of Ireland with their latest creation.
Heinz is launching a limited edition mayonnaise that contains shamrocks to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
The Irish Post reports that Heinz bosses said :
“Our chefs have blended Heinz mayonnaise — made with quality ingredients and free-range eggs — with actual shamrock grown in the fields of Co Kerry, to make a luscious green-hued and tasty mayo,"
“And after a year of planning, testing and tasting, we are thrilled to present the first of its kind … it’s green, it’s creamy and it’s utterly delicious,"
Irish Plants International shamrock-grower, James O'Leary said:
“Our shamrock has been carefully cultivated in Ballinaskelligs, Co Kerry, one of the greenest places in the southwest of Ireland, where the Irish language is still spoken fluently by the locals,"
O'Leary has been growing shamrocks for over 31 years and supplies the shamrocks that are presented to the White House every year.
