Here are the most hated words in the English language.
We all have words that we hate to hear.
It can sound like nails being dragged across a chalkboard.
However, there has now been a definitive list published by The Culture Insider.
It turns out that we hate most of the words on this list because of a social component called word aversion.
It is "a feeling of intense, irrational distaste for the sound or sight of a particular word or phrase because the word itself somehow feels unpleasant or even disgusting."
We are also apparently influenced by others around us- and if people close to us hate a word, we're more likely to dislike the word too.
Word of warning: some of these might send shivers down your spine.
