Man creates robot to insert and remove contact lenses

It's not for the faint hearted!

A man has decide to create a voice activated robot that inserts and removes contact lenses.

Craig Hershoff who uses scleral lenses wanted to create a robot to help the elderly and those with dexterity issues.

The Florida native, told WPLG-TV:

"We've tried the device on elderly people, I'm elderly too, and it really helps with dexterity. They've all liked it and appreciate how well it works,"

Suction cups were built the with ideal amount of suction to insert and remove the contact lense.

Hershoff has called the invention the Claira Lens Robot.

The robot is still undergoing clinical trials in labs in Boston.

According to UPI, if the device is approved it could be on the market as early as next year.
