Well this is new...
A woman in the States has gotten surgery to remove her 'resting bitch face'.
Hope Davis from New Jersey got the procedure after she noticed her sour puss in her friend's photos of her on Facebook and Instagram.
She told Louise Clarke on The Hub about why she decided to remover her resting bitch face:
"Mean old Mr Gravity is coming in and pulling it down and it makes people... It leaves you with this kind of resting bitch face and you look a little angry.
"You can get a little bit of filler and get rid of it. That's what I did. I said, "No thank you," and I got rid of it."
Doctors use techniques like the injection of fillers into the face and sometimes Botox, to soften the look. The procedure can take anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes, and can set you back between €450 to €4,500, depending on the number of shots you get. Typically, the effect lasts up to two years.
Hope says part of the reason she got it done is because she has to be pleasant and approachable as part of her day job:
"I work in medical, so I'm surrounded by people not having a good time. Like everyone's sick, it's chronic and they've been long suffering.
I'd like to be that spark of happiness when they see me, kind of when I deal with a patient, when I am talking to the doctors and the staff that are dealing with heavy issues all the time."
However, she added that the procedure had no impact on her personality:
"It's just a filler. It does not kill your inner bitch.
"My inner bitch is alive and well and she will come out at will."
Fair enough!
