A publican in Belfast says his bar is for "drinkers only" after he asked a customer to leave for ordering a pint of Diet Coke.

The man who was kicked out tweeted to complain about the treatment he received for not ordering an alcoholic drink.

The bar, which holds up to 30 people, doesn't have live music and doesn't show sports.

John Bittle, owner of Bittle's Bar, explains why he ejected the customer:

"We're a city centre pub. We don't have any food, any sport, any music. We're a very small pub, it only holds 25, 30 people."

"So really, someone coming in on a Friday lunchtime, I give him the last seat in the pub and he wanted a pint of Diet Coke. My brain isn't processed to serve pints of Diet Coke. Nobody's ever asked me for a pint of diet coke. So I said it was for drinkers only and I asked him to leave."
