Residents of a British town are scrambling to find a suspect, after several postboxes in the area were painted green.
Initially, some pointed fingers at the local Green Party, following a strong result in local elections.
Commenting on whether he thought it was supporters trying to make a statement, local Green party councillor Andrew Cooper said it was "Nothing to do with us and not the sort of thing the Green Party would do" according to the Irish Mirror.
With that lead at a dead end, locals now suspect a possible link to Ireland.
Another councillor for the area Bernard McGuin, claimed it could be “a Sinn Fein propaganda stunt” after the party's success in Northern Ireland's election race, which played out over the weekend.
"I am astonished by what has happened but it seems that someone involved in Sinn Fein could be involved here".
The party has so far not responded to the allegation, after being contacted by the Mirror.
A local, who made the discovery of one of the green boxes has described immediately reporting the incident to police "as it is vandalism of the Queen's property."
Meanwhile, the Royal Mail has said they'll repaint the boxes back to their traditional red as soon as possible.
