Animal rights group PETA has urged people to stop using the names of animals as an insult for people.
They've suggested alternatives to common insult words like chicken, snake and rat.
PETA are calling on a number of English dictionaries to change their definitions away from what they call 'speciesist'
Animal-related slurs used to debase humans reinforce inaccurate & harmful characterizations of animals.
PETA is asking @MerriamWebster, @Dictionarycom, & others to help combat speciesism & reduce animal abuse by removing derogatory definitions of pigs, snakes, & dogs. pic.twitter.com/w9KXoTk0vl
