New research has discovered that people would give up their best friend...for the right amount.

The British study saw 2,000 men and women asked how much money it would take for them to bin their bestie.

A shocking 40 per cent of participants confessed they would happily say goodbye to their BFF for some cold, hard cash.

Women would ditch their best friend for just £106,000 (€123,000), while men would give up their mate for a good bit more at £180,000 (€208,000).

This put the average sum at £131,000 (€152,000).
