We all know how addictive TikTok is. One minute, you open the app to scroll through a few funny videos and before you know it, you're deep into a three hour scrolling session.

But how much money would tempt you into ditching the app?

Jewellery company Shane Co has launched an interesting competition for people who are "highly active" on TikTok. They're offering to pay the eventual winner €1,000 for giving up the app for three months.

Entrants will have to show just how much they're on TikTok by providing their username and average daily screen time on the app. A winner will then be chosen based on those screen time results and how passionate the person is about the app. Judges will also be looking at how entrants plan to spend their free time during the TikTok detox whether that be spending time with loved ones or taking up a new hobby.

In order to win the cash, people will also have to provide regular progress updates to a manager in the company. These updates should include pictures, a short lowdown on what they've been doing during the detox and how easy or hard they've found the challenge so far.

Unfortunately for us here in Ireland, you do have to be a US citizen or permanent resident to be considered. Entrants also have to be 18 years old or over.

However, if you do know of anybody interested, they can apply online by Friday 24th June.
