Hear us out on this one...

A study has claimed that hangover become less severe the older you get.

Contrary to what you might believe, scientists have proved that hangovers get easier as you get older.

The latest paper published in a journal called Alcohol and Alcoholism claims that the ill effects from overdoing it on the booze tend to decline with age.

According to Ladbible, the study did note that the level of intoxication is a big factor in level of hangover - obviously.

The researchers said:

"Hangover severity declines with age, even after controlling for the amount of alcohol consumed

"Sex differences were greatest in the younger age groups but became significantly smaller or absent in the older age groups.

"The relationship between age and hangover severity is strongly mediated by subjective intoxication. Pain sensitivity, lower with aging, might be a mediator."

The study claims that you can simply deal with the hangover better because you are used to it.

That isn't to suggest that you should get hammered if you're older because you will still get a hangover.

It also mentions how older drinkers 'know their limits and when to stop.
