We're tired just looking at that.

A study has revealed just how much sleep new parents will lose during the first year of their child's life, and it's not great reading for tired eyes.

A survey taken in the UK found that new parents will only have 5.1 hours worth of sleep on average per night during their bundle of joy's first 12 months.

These lost hours quickly add up, as we're sure any new parents reading this are aware...with some parents losing up to 44 days worth of sleep over the first 12 months.

While missing out on some shut eye is expected by new parents, missing out on a month and a half's worth of sleep over a year is certainly a bit of a shock!

If your exhausted eyes are reading this and finding it all to relateable, the HSE has some great tips you can check out here.
