Lads is this true?

It's no secret that parents of young children face a pretty chaotic existence... And it's only natural to seek some 'me time' every now and then.

Normally this is associated with a stressed out mum finally enjoying a glass of wine or a cup of hot coffee.

However it seems dads often need to seek some solo time too, and some have a very sneaky way of going about it.

A UK based study conducted back in 2018 shows that men manage to rack up seven hours of 'quiet time' in bathroom every year.

The study was commissioned by Pebble Grey, a bathroom expert and surveyed 1,000 men.

Mainly, the men who confessed to hiding away in the jacks wanted to:

  • Run away from partners who constantly nag them.
  • Stay away from house chores or noisy kids.
  • Have an opportunity to use their mobile phones in peace.

A spokesman for Pebble Grey said, “We all need a little bit of time to ourselves – to take stock or switch off completely.”

In addition, the study also revealed that the interruptions in the bathroom happen mostly due to the men’s partners. Their kids came in second.

Among the men in the study, 45 percent claimed that they hardly ever have any ‘me time’.

Another 25 percent said without these occasional bathroom escapes, they wouldn’t “know how they’d cope”.
