Trips to the mechanic are an inevitable fact of life for many of us.
Turns out, as many as half of us are totally faking having any knowledge at all about what the mechanic is saying to us.
We get it, cars are complex and involve thousands of parts you've never even heard of.
According to SWNS, Continental Tire commissioned the research which was conducted by OnePoll and showed the most common people respondents fabricated their auto expertise for were vehicle salespeople (51%), parents (49%) and mechanics (48%).
So if you've ever completely bluffed your way through a chat with your mechanic, you're certainly not alone.
The study also found 57% of people wait for weeks before bringing their motor into a garage, even when they know there's something wrong with it.
And once they've made the call, some people will even do plenty of their own work to make sure they're getting a fair deal:
