Image viaA man has been rescued after he was trapped inside a tunnel he dug to spy on his ex.
50 year old Cesar Arnoldo Gomez spent days digging the hole in Puerto Penasco, in northern Mexico.
He had previously been handed a restraining order to stay away from his former girlfriend, Griselda Santillan. They had been in a relationship together for 14 years.
He apparently intended to spy on her and surprise her incase there was another man in her life. He's now been jailed according to The Mirror.
Last week, firefighters were called out to Griselda Santillan's home after she heard noises from the back of her home. She initially thought it was cats but began to become suspicious when the noises got louder.
Image via The Mirror“I asked a neighbour to look inside who said there was nothing there, but then I noticed some shoes, tools and water", Griselda told a local news outlet, El Universal.
"I shouted at him to get out, but he did not do anything.”
The man had been stuck there for 24 hours and refused to leave until he was forced to do so by emergency services.
He was taken to hospital, where he was found to be suffering with severe dehydration and possible poisoning.
