It's not called The Wild Rose County for nothing
We all know that Irish people are known for being passionate but now we know who is the most romantic.
New research has found Leitrim, Tipperary and Offaly are the most romantic counties in the country.
That's according to Bank of Ireland, who found the pre-Valentine's spend of those counties exceeded the rest of the country.
Leitrim tops the leader board, with its spend up 757 per cent on the same week last year.
Unfortunately the lowest recorded increases were in Carlow, Clare and Cork.
Jilly Clarkin, Head of Customer Journeys at Bank of Ireland, says the report shows a nationwide increase in demand.
She said:
"It's really interesting, its revealed a explosion of pent consumer demand"
"The total spend for the period was up a massive 456% when we compare that to the same time frame in 2021."
"As shoppers flocked to buy traditional Valentines gifts such as: chocolates, jewelry, perfume and even spa breaks."
