And it seems beyond appropriate right now.
With over half of the world's population staying home this weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic, people are having to find new ways to pass the time.
And with no pubs, clubs or restaurants open for the foreseeable future, the Finnish tradition of Kalsarikännit - getting drunk at home in your underwear - is unsurprisingly starting to gain global traction.
I don’t always drink in my underwear, but when I do, I tell everyone it’s a Finnish tradition. https://t.co/mQu1MiacGy

Pronounced, cal-sar-y-cuhn-eet, this word roughly translates to ‘pantsdrunk’ and is the Finnish term for “the feeling when you are going to get drunk home alone in your underwear – with no intention of going out” home, alone, in your underwear" and it is loosely translates to "päntsdrunk."
The Finns; a great bunch of lads. I'll be getting my kalsarikännit on at the weekend. Pictures by request only. pic.twitter.com/rC5ef97oWu

Honestly, has there ever a more socially acceptable time to stay home and have a glass of wine in your underwear? In fact, you'd be doing your civic duty...
So happy Kalsarikännit-ing we guess!
