Yes, it is in the Urban Dictionary...

We're not quite sure who officially coined the term.

But fans of Love Island may recall last year's contestant, Leanne, saying she had gotten 'the ick' with one of her fellow islanders.

And it's been a term used recently on this year's show, with Priya and Jake using it recently.

So, what exactly is it?

It's basically a turn-off which can often be ridiculously simple and small.

But it's very powerful and is hard to recover from.

The Urban Dictionary explains 'the ick' as the following:

You're getting to know someone romantically and...

"everything seems to be going fine.. you THINK you like them but then you suddenly catch 'The Ick'.

"From then on you can't look at the person in the same way, you just progressively get more and more turned off by them, weirdly & maybe for no reason in particular grossed out by them.

"You'll cringeeeeee at the thought of you and them together. Nothing will be the same, you won't be able to do it any longer and eventually have to cut it off."

What do you think?

Is it a real thing or just an excuse because people are just not feeling it?
