Today celebrates words that don't rhyme.

Welcome to September!

September 1st marks No Rhyme Nor Reason Day.

That's according to the National Day Calendar anyway.

Basically it's a day that recognises words that don't rhyme with any other words in the English language.

We've also learned that such words are called refractory rhymes.

We can imagine poets avoid these words at all cost!

Anyway, it's a very real thing and to celebrate, we're showing you an extremely official list of words that can't be rhymed...

But really we want to see if you can prove it wrong.

So, let's see if you can rhyme the following words...

Only one rule: they have to be real words.

  • Orange
  • Month
  • Silver
  • Spirit
  • Chimney
  • Purple
  • Woman
  • Ninth
  • Pint

Apparently it's not the only thing being celebrated today.

It's also National Burnt Ends Day, National Acne Positivity Day and National Chicken Boy’s Day.

Kinda weird but sure we'll go with it!
