Maybe it's just a desperate selling technique?
Before we dive in, get a pen and piece of paper...
Now write down all the foods you'd use Mayonnaise with.
Next write down all the things you'd put in your coffee.
Is there any crossover?
Probably not.
So, when we came across this tweet, we took a double take.
And most Twitter users did too.
Mayo in your coffee.
That’s it, that’s the tweet.

Now we like Mayo as much as the next person, but we also don't wanna go sacrificing a perfectly good cup of coffee by experimenting to this extent.
People mostly weren't impressed, here's some of the replies:
"The only off the wall use for mayo is for grilled cheese and searing steak. Just stop with this." - @skol_brian.
"This is so awful... back to the generic brand for me, no more Hellmans, because WTF." - @HectorTweld.
"I love you intensely, Hellmann’s, but this tweet is pure violence" - @nycbubbles.
Despite the backlash, Hellmann's stood by their suggestion:
Nope, that wasn’t a typo.
Mayo in your coffee.
It’s called having a sophisticated pallet.

So much so, that they drew up a list of benefits...
The benefits of putting mayo in your coffee include:
