Can anyone give him a run for his money?

Disgusting habit, a natural thing or a record-breaking feat.

People may have different ways of describing the act of burping - but whatever you think of them, you have probably done a fair few in your lifetime.

Some are even proud of their burping skills - whether it's the length or volume of them.

And that brings us to one man: Neville Sharpe.

The Australian has achieved the loudest burp (male), breaking a record which has stood for over a decade.

The Guinness World Book of Record website said his burp was registered at "112.4 decibels (db) in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, on 29 July 2021."

They added that it was louder than an average electric drill or a trombone.

Neville said he was "more than excited" that he’d finally broken the record.

So what kind of training does it take?

Well, Neville was taught how to burp by his older sister, Sandie.

And according to the record website, he had picked up the "skill" at the age of six.

His wife, KP, coached Neville for over ten years, and pushed him to attempt the record to show off his talent.

He spent five years perfecting his craft, aiming for the ideal strength and noise level of his burp.

And it all paid off - as he is now a world record holder.

His new record broke Paul Hunn’s (UK) longstanding record of 109.9 db which he set 12 years ago.
