Tree-mendous news for anyone that wants a cuddle

It seems with most of the world in some form of lockdown, physical contact is limited.

A forestry company in Iceland has come up with a solution for anyone who misses getting hugs.

The rangers at the Hallormsstadur National Forest in East Iceland suggest hugging trees instead of people during isolation.

Chief Ranger Bergrun Arna Thorsteinsdottir, told the RUV public broadcaster: "Why not come and enjoy the forest, where you can hug the trees and just get the energy from this area,"

The company has posted photos to skogur.is showing the many ways you can hug a tree.

They've even taken a series of instructional images on how you should hug a tree.

The idea has been backed by Thor Thorfinnsson, the over forest manager for East Iceland. Thorfinnsson has some useful tips on how to make the most of your physical contact with a tree.

BBC reported that Thorfinnsson said:"It's good to close your eyes while hugging a tree. I press my cheek against it and feel the warmth and currents flowing from the tree into me... it starts in your toes, runs up your legs and through your body into your brain,"

"You get such a good relaxing feeling that are ready for a new day and new challenges,"
