Driver has car seized after trying to fool Gardaí with "homemade insurance disc

It didn't take a detective to spot this one...

A uninsured driver in Limerick has had their car seized, after attempting to fool Gardaí with a homemade insurance disc.

Gardaí were operating a Covid-19 checkpoint on Henry Street in the city when they stopped the car.

Through some not so close detective work, they quickly realised the car's insurance disc was clearly a homemade fake and that the driver was on the road illegally.

The car was seized and Gardaí said the driver will be receiving a "not so homemade summons."
