There's excuses and then there's this...
A driver in the UK told police he was on a 170-mile round trip to get a break from his wife and kids.
He was stopped by police during the Easter break on the A30 near Launceston. He was pulled over by officers as he was on a non-essential trip to Cornwall.
In a tweet by Alliance Roads Policing, the account for Devon, Cornwall and Dorset Roads Policing, officers said:
"Taking your BMW out for a spin on a 170 mile round trip to have a break from the wife and three kids is also not an essential journey!"
"The roads are much quieter but there are still people who don't get it. Driver reported on the A30 near Launceston."

Meanwhile here in Ireland, a driver who said he was "out for a spin" tested positive for cannabis and cocaine at a Garda checkpoint at the weekend. The incident took place on the N81 near the village of Brittas on the Dublin and Wicklow border.
