The 2017 Fyre Festival that was not to be has had its original merch put up for auction.
Billy McFarland, the event organiser was arrested for fraud after the event left people stranded and with no festival.
The merchandise was seized from McFarland following his arrest.
To help assist those who lost money to the disaster the U.S. Marshals service will auction off merch from the failed event.
U.S. Marshal Ralph Sozio of the Southern District of New York said :
"This Fyre Festival-branded clothing and other items that were seized from Billy McFarland were originally intended to be sold at the Fyre Festival itself but were kept by McFarland, with the intent to sell the items and use the funds to commit further criminal acts while he was on pre-trial release,”
“The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland’s $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes."
The merchandise included a band festival goers would wear on entry, a cap, long-sleeve t-shirts and a hoodie.
There is a total 126 items to be put up for auction including a souvenir token that said "a conspiracy to change the entertainment world".
According to Complex, bidding has begun and end on the 13th August.
