"Before the fence, people were not following social-distancing"
A pub in Cornwall has found a shocking way to make sure its customers are adhering to social distancing guidelines.
The Star Inn has erected an electric fence near its bar counter to allow enough room between their patrons and staff.
South West News Service reported that owner Johnny McFadden, who is also a farmer, installed the fencing to keep his bartenders safe.
Speaking to Cornwall Live, McFadden said:"Before the fence, people were not following social-distancing and were doing as they pleased, but now people take heed to the guidance around social distancing,
According to Stuff.co, Mcfadden told SWNS that the fence is usually isn't switched on but could be if things got out of hand.
Bartender Joel Carne-Mead said:"It's just a deterrent, but hopefully the sight of it will help keep people away. That's how it works with cattle too, animals see it and often don't want to test it,"
