When TimeOut magazine set out to poll readers on their favourite places to hang out in their city, areas in bustling metropolises like Berlin, New York, London – plus smaller cities like Accra, Tbilisi and Oaxaca.
But Dublin 8 on the southside of the city was ranked in the top 20!
Locals have welcomed the news that Dublin 8 has been listed as the 15th coolest neighbourhood on the globe.
TimeOut polled 27-thousand people and got feedback from local experts, highlighted cultural hotspots like Lucky's Pub and green spaces such as the War Memorial Gardens.
Described as capturing the essence and charm of the capital to a tee – Dublin 8 ranked higher than neighbourhoods in the likes of Vancouver, Paris and Amsterdam.
