Minister insists they did test system with fadas before rollout.
Conradh Na Gaeilge says it's "amazed" that the Digital Covid Cert isn't displaying Irish names properly, when it warned the Government about the issue.
The síneadh fada is being replaced on the document with unknown letters and special characters.
Can't wait to get MÆ!rè's covid green cert ?
It's a long hard slog this life when you've a fada...

Conradh spokesperson Julian De Spáinn says it's reduced his name to 'gobbledegook'.
? Cé hé an 'de SpÂıinn' seo atá tar éis Teastas Digiteach COVID an AE a fháil ar maidin @roinnslainte?
Who is this 'de SpÂıinn' mentioned in this EU Digital COVID certificate❓
? #NílSéCeartGoLeor & I'd imagine not acceptable by any airport / airline mar nach é sin m'ainm pic.twitter.com/RPaABuqD0Z

He's now worried that foreign airports will turn him away.
Imagine going on your first holiday since COVID began and you’re denied access due to a fada not being on your COVID cert hahaha ah stop

However, Minister Ossian Smyth who is overseeing the rollout, insists they did test the tech.
Speaking to an Oireachtas Committee, he said:
“We did test this, we did test the Digital Covid Cert with names with fadas within them, and with apostrophes and everything we could think of that might break it, and it did work.”
