We haven't even got to Halloween yet, we know, but this year there's actually good reason to start thinking about getting ahead of the rush.
Consumer experts say the pandemic, Brexit and global supply chain issues could lead to shortages.
The blockage of the Suez Canal earlier this year also caused unprecedented disruption to global trade.
Consumer Affairs correspondent with the Irish Times, Conor Pope, says the costs of shipping is also causing a problem:
"You also have this really chronic shortage of HGV truck drivers in the UK so that's proving really difficult to manage."
"Then you have the fact that the cost of the actual containers that bring these products from all over the world has gone through the roof"
"All of that stuff is going to put huge pressure on supply chains"
So if you're on the ball, you might want to start your wishlist and keeping an eye out for the bargains.
