A cat that was stuck up a tree for six days has been rescued in Carlow.

The ISPCC and local SPCA came to the aid of the ginger feline which was stuck up the fifty foot tree this week.

They tried to to coax the pet down, but there was just no moving him.

The Tullow Fire Services were contacted to help, but they couldn't get the cat down either despite many hours of trying.

Finally with assistance from Lucas Tree Services and Codd Mushrooms a teleporter was used to bring the cat safely to the ground.

A spokesperson said “Although we often see cats go up and down trees with no problems but in reality cats are not really equipped to come down from trees because of their curving claws and body mass."

Cats can also give themselves a fright if they climb too high, keeps them from even trying to get down.

All's well that ends well, all 9 lives intact!
