"I specifically, I mean specifically asked for cash gifts.''
A bride-to-be's rant on social media has gone viral after she was forced to cancel her wedding at the last minute because her guests refused to pay €970 each towards the special day.
An unknown user on Mumsnet has revealed the shocking email they were sent by the woman - named only as Susan - which announced she was calling off the upcoming nuptials just four days before the big day because she had split up with the groom following the lack of "funding" from attendees.
The email, posted to mumsnet, read: "Dear friends it comes with great sadness that I am announcing the cancellation of the wedding. I apologise for cancelling only four days beforehand.
"Unfortunately, [my fiance] and I have broken up due to some recent and irreparable problems. We have decided to end our relationship and not go forth with any future proceedings.
"I specifically, I mean specifically asked for cash gifts. How could we have our wedding that we dreamed of without proper funding?
''We sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1,500''.

Susan’s plan soon unraveled when she discovered that her friends and family were not prepared to pay for her big day.
Despite Susan's ex's family offering $1,500 towards the big day, and a stunning sum of $5,000 offered up by the maid of honour, it still wasn't enough.
The dream was over.
''We were f*cking livid''.
When Susan and her ex-fiance sent out their invitations asking for the cash donations, they were shocked when not many people sent them a cheque.
''We sent out RSVPs and only eight people replied and sent us the check [sic],'' she wrote on Facebook.
''We were f*cking livid''.
Things then went from bad to worse for the couple after Susan's fiance suggested they go to Vegas and get a quickie wedding - This was what led to the split.
However, Susan seems to be one to catch flights, not feelings... after she revealed in the rambling Facebook post that she will be backpacking around South America for two months.
A happy ending? It's an ending, lets just leave it at that.
