''I’m told they’ve gone for an annulment''.

A new bride who was attacked by the grooms brother - also the best man - left her husband just hours after the wedding.

Welsh couple Erin Mason-George and Steffan Wilson tied the knot four months ago, but their big day took a dramatic turn for the worst when Erin was dragged down a flight of stairs in a drunken rampage by the groomsman.

He also assaulted Erin and grabbed her by her wedding dress as he raged his brother never should have married her.

Tomos Rhydian Wilson, 29, was found guilty of five charges of assault and two of criminal damage at an Aberystwyth court.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £250 (€296) each to Erin and one of her sisters, as well as a further £100 (€118) to her mum and other sibling and the manager.

He was also made subject to a community order for 12-months, will also have to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work and pay £900 (€1068) costs.

“The marriage was all over in a day”.

In the aftermath of the disastrous wedding, friends of the newlyweds told Mail Online the couple decided to “go their separate ways” just hours after saying 'I do'.

“The marriage was all over in a day which must be some sort of record,” an unnamed friend of the family said.

“They weren’t even married long enough to get a divorce, I’m told they’ve gone for an annulment.”

The couple decided to split when Steffan sided with his brother, rather than Erin, on the night of the attack.

“The groom had a choice to make – either his wife or his brother and father,” the friend told the website.

“When he went back with them that was it, marriage over.”

Groom's separate criminal charges.

Since the wedding scuffle made headlines it’s been revealed that Steffan (the groom) was charged with attempted murder earlier this month.

According to Mail Online, the soldier is accused of beating up taxi driver and father of two Noby James after a night out near his army barracks.

He is now in custody and will remain behind bars until his trial begins new year.
