Can you imagine dealing with the stress of this at your wedding?
A bride is stirring up the AITA subreddit by asking whether she was right to boot her mother-in-law out of the wedding which she paid for.
It's not for no reason though, the mother-in-law in question arrived to the wedding with none other than her son (the groom's) ex-wife "Mindy".
"I (28F) met my husband(27M) four years after he divorced who everyone in his family calls ''the love of his life'', it's okay, I don't really care if they think that way because my husband has assured me that it's not the case."
Not a great a start when you're trying to be accepted into a family.
Due to the pandemic and some other factors, the couple had decided to downsize their wedding and have a smaller ceremony.
So after all the planning and added stress of Covid the big day arrives, and the groom's mother arrives to the 'small and simple' affair with a surprise plus one:
"When the big day came, she's Mindy by her side and my husband and I are confused, my MIL approached us and we asked her what was happening, she said that she'd invited her to the wedding because it was a special day, my husband said that yes, it was a special day for us and that Mindy had no business being there and would appreciate if she left."
"My MIL looked at me and I said that 'I would rather that too"
Needless to say, the mother-in-law didn't take it well and said that if Mindy had to leave, then she would to.
"Then do" replied the groom, in the smoothest shutdown of 2021.
We think the newlyweds were absolutely right to do it, especially since they weren't even told that Mindy would be coming.
